By the river's edge.
Before the transformation, the Seine was only a distant backdrop, glimpsed in fragments through a plan that was too divided. Our intervention consisted in erasing the obstacles, freeing the façades, letting the river in.
The living area now follows the length of the windows and unfolds the Eiffel Tower as a promise renewed every day. In the night zone, every bedroom looks onto the Seine; the Statue of Liberty appears, modest, in the corner of a window. A master suite concentrates everything one expects from a principal bedroom: bathroom, dressing room, silence.
Not a partition, not a square metre that has not been called into question. The interior stays in the background: here, it is the river that speaks. The whole project was designed so it could be heard.
